Week two

The Story of the Bible

The Bible is a unified story, comprised of several smaller stories, attesting to the lives and history of Biblical Days. It tells stories of the lives and experiences of the Believers of its day.  There are warnings of what we should abhor and tales of triumphant victory. Just like a grandparent or great grandparent sits down to tell stories of the family’s history, the Bible does the same for our spiritual family lineage. Let’s learn the story of the Bible and glean wisdom from its pages!

I think it’s how we are created. We were created in the image of God with power and authority so it’s our natural grab to want to seize that control that autonomy that is rightfully ours. That is why serving God is important it’s the chose to relinquish our minor power in the hands of the one with all power so that we can rule under his authority which is submission. I mean everyone wants to be a Demi God like Maui on Moana but that’s what it means to be a follower of Christ is to have authority under authority as the centurion of the Bible taught us.

Lacey

What a great analogy to Demi-Gods (and Disney)! Since we are made in God’s image and are also under His authority, we have access to His power, which makes us POWERFUL!

I believe because human instinct seems to sometimes second quest based on what we hear verses what we know.

Question: Why is it so tempting to eat the “forbidden fruit” and define good and evil on our own terms?

It’s so tempting because some humans tend to believe there’s always more we should have. It’s as if we feel we are missing out on something. But we have to realize that when we attempt to define good and evil on our own terms we are essentially saying that we want more than God has given to us. We are making an indirect declaration that we know more about what’s good for us than God does. The act does not take into consideration that consequence(s) of our actions will surely come

Angela Coachman

I think that we as people naturally want what we shouldn’t have. That’s just human nature. (I.e. If you your mother says don’t touch the stove, you are going to try and touch it) I think that most people think they are doing good although it may be evil. If we don’t follow the rules that Christ has set out for us then it is wrong. You may have good intentions but that doesn’t make it right. We must submit to his word and teachings and follow that.

Devotional Day 7
What comes to mind when you read this passage? Can people
see Christ in you? Is He moving through you?

  • Everything started and starts with God. He is the light and the way.
  • I believe people can see Christ in me and moving through me as I try daily to be a living testimony and share God through my words, actions, service to others, and my obedience to him.

Devotional Day 8
Seeing how creation was formed by the words that proceeded from God’s mouth, what does this tell you about the power of the words that you say daily? Do you need to change it?

  • Life and death is in the power of your tongue. ALWAYS SPEAK LIFE!
  • TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN YOU CAN’T TRACE HIM! He is the light at the end of the tunnel shinning through darkness.

Words have power and meaning they have cause and effect. I’m cautious and intentional with my words but I’m also human with my words so I rely on the word of God spoken over my life over my own, since gods word trumps my own word. I always pray God let your word stand over my life above what anyone else says and even above what I say about me. However I believe that your words can frame your thinking and outlook and can cause reaction within your human body. I think really knowing Gods word and just standing firm on that and believing what his word says about me and most importantly how his word describes who God is gives me assurance that my life will be better than good in Todd Galbreth voice.

My light shines so bright it’s captivating it’s hard to look away it draws you in and consumes the darkness. I make the sun jealous because people don’t turn away 😁😁 Period.

Sn👀 I hope we can show our personality on this forum …If not its too late.

This question took me back to when I was a little girl going to the grocery stores with my mom. Seeing all the great stuff we were going to have at home, and some not so great. Get home and forget all about these great items we have in the cabinets, until someone said something, either a brother/sister or friend. Distraction. Temptation to do something I’m not suppose to do and know I’ll get in trouble. Here we go with The Romans 7:15. So for me it’s displaying self-control. I talk myself sometimes into eating that cookie.
I have to put on God’s love daily for good, walking in at all times. I had to yell out Lord Jesus help me, in the Grocery store because evil was getting ready to place. Yes it’s a daily dying to flesh for me for good. Great Question.
