Week fifteen

The New Testament Letters Pt. 2

Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves, take up their cross and follow me”.  It is difficult to become a disciple if we do not know the teacher, Jesus Christ.   Let’s find out more about the instructions He left for us.

Day 1 –  What attribute of God is displayed in this passage that we should have and share as His disciples?

  • Sacrifice, unconditional love, nonjudgemental, forgiving
  • Everlasting life

Day 2 – what is God’s desire as described for us in this passage? How does knowing this is God’s desire for us help us when we come in contact with people’s situations as a minister of the gospel?

  • He’s warning us, reminding us, and promising us better
  • to listen in love, give grace, let God lead us

Day 3 –  Why is God’s grace important in your faith journey? In what ways has He extended grace to you recently?

  • Because without God I would be dead. God’s grace extends more grace for me to grow, learn, and get it right.
  • He allowed me another day to live and share his goodness

Day 4 – How does this victory affect the way you handle difficult people or situations? How might you more intentionally create an atmosphere of victory in your everyday life?

  • I try my best to extend grace, be patient, empathetic, and see things fro God’s perspective
  • By standing in a posture of gratitude

Day 5 –  why is making disciples our mandate? Why is it important to always keep that mandate in front of us?

  • It helps them learn about and know Jesus as well as tells of his goodness and good news.
  • Helps to stay focused
