In an effort to help their local Upstate community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Relentless Church held a Drive By Blessing grocery giveaway. Over 100 families were served on March 22nd. Relentless Reach Pastor DeMarcus Hill, said the church feeds about 200 people weekly. “The grocery packages, which are sanitized and bagged using gloves, will be provided on a curbside basis to the public until they are no longer needed”, Hill said.
Hands and Feet of Jesus
Senior citizens and others who may be challenged with food instability are welcome. Co-Pastor of Relentless Church, Aventer Gray commented, “Some people can’t buy things, so our church has to continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus and give what we can.”
Not just for the Church
Pastor John Gray, Senior Pastor of Relentless Church, began the giveaway by leading everyone in prayer. Gray mentioned that he wants to make it not only available to their church community, but the Greenville and Upstate region as well because everybody has equal value and if you have a need, they are here to provide help.
The giveaway was initially planned for 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. but didn’t end until the very last person was greeted. Pastor DeMarcus Hill says, “we will continue to serve as long as there is a need.” Nonperishable foods, pizza, frozen meat, laundry detergent, canned goods and more were given to all those in need.
Giveaways are held on Sunday from 12:30-2:30p.m and Monday thru Wednesday from 10 – 2 p.m. Those interested in donating items for additional grocery packages can drop off items Monday – Thursday, from 10a until 2pm.
